Lemongrass Essential Oil is extracted from the grassy leaves of the plant and has a sweet, fresh, and lemony aroma.  Lemongrass is believed to soothe tension while promoting an overall sense of calm in the body and mind.  It is known to relieve stress and uplift negative moods.   Lemongrass is also commonly used in beekeeping in the treatment of tracheal mites and to mimic the attractant pheromone of honeybees to help capture wild or displaced bee swarms.

  • Diffuse 5 drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil and 2 drops each of Lavender and Peppermint Essential Oils to ease stress and soothe the pain of headaches.
  • Combine 5 drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil with 1 tbsp of Sweet Almond Oil and massage into sore muscles to help relieve pain and inflammation.
  • Combine 10 drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil with 1oz of Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to freshly cleansed skin to relieve redness and irritation.

Beekeeping: Apply a few drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil to the entrance of a hive lure to help attract displaced honeybees.
